A little late in posting this update...but anyways...Great news.....Hunter's stoma is closed!!!! Doctor didn't have to do another procedure to close it. When Jeremy called me with the news I was beyond thrilled. We don't even have to go for a follow up for 1 year! I can't tell you how big of a weight is lifted on my shoulders.
It's been for so long, okay one appointment down, let's start planning the next one etc etc. So to be "done" with everything so to speak is the greatest feeling in the world. I can't help but smile even as I type this post....

Jeremy and Hunter left for Cincinnati today....I was the only one shedding tears walking out of the airport as I could only go as far as the security lines...

This trip is to check again if his stoma (hole in neck from trach) is still open or has closed. It sure looks closed and I hope it is but if it's not they will close it. I hope to badly it's closed, one less procedure for this brave little boy would be nice....love you tons hunty.

Jeremy said Hunter did really well during both flights and in the hotel so far. We skyped a bit before they start winding down for bed....

took this picture while we were skyping....yep, I think it's time I stop using the ipad and talking on the phone...nothing gets past this boy...  ; )

Last week I read heard about a tragic event for a family in NYC. It brought me to tears even. The unthinkable, the unimaginable happened to this poor family...

A mother came home to her apartment to find her two children ages 2 and 6 stabbed to death in the bathtub. The nanny who was caring for them was found nearby with stab wounds to herself. I couldn't even believe what I was reading. My heart went out for this woman, I just couldn't believe something like this could happen. But it did, and it does.

This families lifestyle is very different yet so much like mine....One main part that I connected with is that she is a mommy blogger, just like me. She blogged about her kids, trips to the park, the pumpkin patch, birthdays...just as I do with Hunter. She did the same stuff with her kids, she's just a regular mom. Sadly she even wrote a blog entry just hours before this happened.

The second I read this story I just wanted to hug my Hunter..

I've read some people's thoughts on this event recently, they ranged from caring and compassionate to "that's why I would never hire a nanny" or "that's why I'm a stay at home mother"....how insensitive is that? It just really bothered me that someone could say something like that. Like this poor mother would have hired someone she didn't trust or thought wasn't a great person with children. Apparently they got great references and even went through a prominent NYC "nanny hiring company". I'm sure they did all the rights things...but unfortunately, if someone just "snaps" and goes crazy you can't always tell or see the signs. This nanny had no criminal record, no questionable past. So for some people to judge someone in this situation is just awful.
Some of the worst crimes have been done by "stay at home mommies". Remember Susan Smith and Andrea Yates? What it comes down to is just awful crimes have been done by all kinds of people and it's never okay, no matter who does this. I pray for this family and the kids who's lives have ended way to soon.

Please say a little prayer for Kevin and Marina Krim and their family.....
