We are starting to plan Hunter's 1st birthday!!! There is so much to think about..food, decorations, reserving a location at the park, etc etc etc...it's going to be great though, family and friends getting to meet Hunter for the first time, I can't wait! Here are a couple pics from our Party City shopping trip...we had way too much fun!

one of my new favorites....

This picture just makes me melt....Gramma took this while I was out for a few hours today....I like to think they were waiting for me to come home...hehe

We had a nice day today...went to the farmers market, we got some nice veggies to try and some honey for Jeremy. It was quite hot out so we didn't stay long as we were already sweating in the hot sun! Before going home we made a quick trip to...you guessed it....Target. I just can't get away from that place! Picked up a few things, and checked out their new grocery section! Love that they have groceries now.

He was trying to say something....I just wish I knew what!!

This looks like a lot of drinking, but it was just a taste of each for everyone!! lol

After that I went to a going away party for one of the mom's in my mommy group. Going to miss her and her son as they are quite fun to hang out with! I wish Jeremy could have gone with but his new schedule has him working on Sundays now. We tried several different kinds of beer everyone brought and Jeremy's pick(I had no idea what to bring so Jeremy picked one for me) won second place!

hot fun in the summertime....

We went to the pool today...it was HOT! I put sunscreen on myself but apparently not that great because you can see the spots I missed quite obviously...at least I know my sunscreen works well...Hunter had fun...I'm so glad he loves the water. I just wish I didn't have to worry about his trach because it would be a lot less stressful...not that it's so stressful I don't enjoy myself but I do have to pay very close attention that he doesn't topple over and dunk himself on accident...can't wait until the trach is gone!

I just finished reading the book "A Stolen Life" by Jaycee Dugard. All I can say is wow....wow as in I am utterly speechless on what this girl went through. She had her life taken away from her and yet can still see the good things in life and that it always could have been worse. I don't know how much worse but the fact that she is looking on moving forward and not letting her captors take another day from her is amazing. Good for you, Jaycee. Thank you for telling your story and letting everyone know that even though Philip Garrido doesn't take responsibility for what he did,  that you don't have to keep his secret any longer.

On a side note, I'd like to continue to read more books. I used to read often and now I haven't read a book in quite a while. So I plan on continuing...I have several books in line already for me to start. Most of my books I read about are memoirs, autobiographies and a lot of true crime books. I love Ann Rule books, I even met her at a book signing once...very cool.

grumpy hunter and monsoons...

This was taken on the way home after a shopping trip....I took the this little fan away from him because he kept biting it and he was not happy about that! Not to mention he was past due for his nap...

After a much needed nap...Hunter was in a much better mood...I wanted to catch a nice picture of him watching the rain...I had to keep putting him back in front of the window for my picture I wanted to take...he was much more interested in crawling elsewhere though...but here is a cute one...

By the way, it's monsoon season here....to me I pictured monsoons more like a tornado type event, something that Florida would have...not here in New Mexico...either way, it's fun to watch since it doesn't rain here---ever!! Makes me think of the beautiful Pacific Northwest...can't wait to be back.....sooner than later I hope.  On the good side, we are taking a trip up there in August...can't wait for Hunter to meet the rest of my family and friends....

This beautiful hot air balloon was right practically in our backyard a few days ago....I was sleeping in....but my mom snapped this picture....isn't is a great shot?

fastest baby in the world!!!

science center

We checked out the local Science Center in town today...it was very cool but it's definitely more for bigger kids. He still has a couple years before he can really enjoy all the exhibits. They did however, have a nice little toddler room which had a few things Hunter could check out. He had a good time I think..we'll definitely be back when he is bigger though!

A couple months ago I started to separate Hunter's clothes that were to small for him and I got as far as putting them in a plastic tub in Hunter's closet. Tonight my mom helped me sort and put them all in boxes with labels and it looks so nice and it really actually feels like a weight off my shoulder.

I may or may not be quite the slacker/procrastinator in the organizational department so her doing this helping with this was really nice. I did however, kinda feel sad for a second seeing all his tiny little clothes....I didn't want to pack them away!!...I can't believe he fit into those newborn size onsies!!

Hunter's first 4th of July

This was today at the local July 4th parade. It was a small and short one but that was just fine as it was hot out and I wasn't sure how long Hunter would last...he did great though by the way...

After the parade we decided to go to a brewery/bistro we like in town...we have never had any issues there before....until today....they were short staffed it seemed and but not crazy busy by any means. We waited FOREVER for our food...kept waiting etc etc...TWO tables who came after us got served before us. One of those tables being a party of eight people...we finally asked the waitress why they were all served before us and she just said "well, that's just how the tickets got put in". No apology or anything! It was absolutely ridiculous. We finally left with no food and even more starved....We went to another restaurant and were in and out fast and the food was good...oh well, what can you do?? Other than that, we had a really nice day.

band practice

backyard fishin'

Jeremy has been working on a really nice pond in our backyard. It's really nice with lights and looks really cool at night. He just got some little gold fish to live in it as well. So we thought we'd have some fun and have little Hunter do some fishin' today...ahh the life for that little boy. Gramma BS was on the ball with quickly making Hunter his first fishing pole...yes, even if it was only rope tied to a wooden spoon...she put her Cub Scout knowledge to use...she was a Den Mother after all...;)   Don't worry Hunter, when you are a little bigger we will get you a real fishing pole...

what's hunter been up to??

I didn't mean to not post anything all week...I don't even have a good excuse...but the last couple days hunter has been sick and then passed it on to me...so just trying to get better as fast as we can. i'm downing glasses of oj by the gallon.

Hunter is sooo close to taking his first steps I can't believe it...Here are some clips from this week. He can stand a good few seconds longer than he shows in this video...I'm sure he was tired of us trying to get him to stand over and over...sorry little man... =)
