Oh the joys of teething!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hunter has been teething for a while now and his favorite thing to do is gnaw on anything he can get his mouth on, whether it be a toy, a chair leg, or my finger....I can't imagine how sore his gums must feel. It kills me to see him in pain and you can't explain to him why he hurts! So far, it hasn't been that bad(knock on wood) he gets fussy off and on but it doesn't seem to last long after a nice dose of baby Tylenol and a warm bottle. His first tooth broke through end of last week and it seems to be showing more and more everyday. I can't remember the exact day it happened and I didn't write it down! Bad mom!! Unless I write something down right away I may not remember it..either I'm getting old or I just have a lot on my plate right now....

Another thing that works REALLY well for teething in my opinion is the Munchkin food feeders, you can fill it up with frozen fruit or veggies and Hunter just goes to town, love those things!

Oh and today at the Dr.'s we learned Hunter has baby eczema! I'm like anything else please??? It doesn't help that I live in one of the dryest states in the country! That's it, we have to move back to Seattle for more humidity!! hehe....okay maybe not yet but soon I hope..  His poor face is all red and dry. The Dr. told me to get a special cream for him and so far it's working quite well. I noticed a huge difference within a couple of hours of putting it on. Luckily his dry skin can be managed though, we just need to lather him up often with plenty of lotion. Cetaphil Restoraderm and baby Aquaphor have been life savors...they seem to work really well and with fast results..

photo dump.....

He's figured out how to lift himself up and hang on the rails....what's next Hunter???
Tuesday was a much anticipated day as that's when my mom flew down to be with us. I have been looking forward to her visit as I can't wait for her to see little Hunter for the first time since he was 3 weeks old! She won't believe how he has grown into a little person with such a great little personality. Of course she has seen tons of pictures but they never quite the same as seeing someone in person.  I had planned on taking picking her up from the airport with Hunter for a nice greeting for her to see him. I was about ready to leave and Hunter was still napping soundly and I couldn't bare to disturb him. I got to the airport and I saw my mom coming down the escalator and while I'm sure she was happy to see me, I could tell she was thinking "where is Hunter"?????? It's okay, I have come to the realization the I am now come in second when it comes to Hunter...hehe. I made sure to hurry home with her so she could see Hunter....it was pure joy and happiness for her and Hunter too...I'm sure...this picture says it all.....

I'm a little bummed today....we were supposed to be in Seattle this week. Seems like our Seattle trips just haven't meant to be lately...Last year J had to cancel his trip due to surgery and now with Hunter's new trach it was best not to fly. I am just hoping it won't be too long before we can finally make it up there as a family! I will be patient. I am very thankful my mom will be coming here next week though...looking forward to it! She hasn't seen Hunter(other than Skype of course)since Hunter was about 3 weeks old! Now he is 6 1/2 months and he is no where near that little newborn he once was. So that will be exciting for her to see him when we pick her up at the airport.

I can cook!!!!

E-mealz

I have a problem with never knowing what to make for dinner....I usually end up making the same 4 meals over and over.....and while they are good, it definitely gets old having tacos and spaghetti etc. This website E-mealz.com gives you your shopping list for the week and has a great variety of tasty meals. Now this may seem not important to some people but it's been priceless for me! Whenever I would go to the grocery store I always came home with tons of stuff but nothing to make dinners with some how. It's $1.25 a week and it saves me sooo much time from wandering aimlessly in the grocery store.

I found E-mealz from another blog called "Another Day Stonger" the address is kandjstaats.blogspot.com.  This blog is a good one and very emotional as this young couple just lost their 4 month old baby girl last month. All they know is that she stopped breathing at the babysitters house. When I first read her blog I cried and cried. I thought how in the world are they dealing with losing their baby? During this time I was very emotional as well as we were still in the hospital with Hunter. Once again I am so grateful we had the chance to get Hunter help before something potentially awful happened.

I love our new high chair!!! We were using the bumbo seat to feed Hunter but he kept leaning over to the side almost falling out....not sure what he was thinking..but it just wasn't working anymore. We got the Boon Flair high chair and I LOVE it...I know it's just a high chair but can I say it again, I LOVE IT. No cracks or crevasses for food to hide. It's all smooth and round and you clean with one swift wipe and you're done! Okay, I will stop dedicating a whole post to a chair...but really, can you tell I love it??????

he's only upset because I am too busy taking pictures rather than feeding him! Bad momma...

6 month stats

Hunter had his 6mos appt today and he did great as usual. He had a total of FOUR shots! He cried and then as soon as it was over he was fine again. Once he was home he was just really sleepy like usual after he gets shots. He took a nice 3 1/2 hour nap! His doctor was very happy with his growth and motor skills. I asked her about early intervention and she referred me to a couple places to check out. This would simply be for his communication since he won't be able to speak for a while. This program would help with some sign language etc. He will however be able to get a speaking valve for his trach which would allow him to make sounds and possibly even talk when he is a little older. Part of me wants to fast forward to when Hunter gets his trach out but I know that is selfish because I should be enjoying every single second right now. I am enjoying him and life now but I still hate that he has to deal with a trach! Even though he seems fine with it. Thankfully kids adjust much better than us adults!

I gave Hunter a sippy cup today with his formula in it, he didn't really hold it on his own but at least he drank from it no problem. The doctor also told me he can have soft table foods and those little puffs that melt in your mouth. He's growing up so fast!

Jeremy and I got Hunter a little welcome home surprise....We got him Scout the puppy from Leap Frog. We got to program it so that he knows Hunter's name as well as add fun songs to listen to. It's so cute and I can't wait for Hunter to enjoy his new little friend.
